Stone Door

Eric and I went out with Amanda and Jeremy on Saturday to Stone Door in South Cumberland State Park. The guys climbed one of the rock faces while Manda and I hiked around and took pictures.

These are the stone stairs that lead down to where the guys climbed.

Weekly Words Challenge

Temporary

Somehow all of this smut got on my camera's sensor. At least I think it's the sensor. I have no idea what is is or how it got there, but I have had to clone out lots of these dots on most of my photos for the past few days. I'm going to get my camera cleaned this week. So hopefully all of this stuff is temporary.

First Harvest

We planted tomato and cucumber plants in June and I just plucked our first cucumber! There are several more cucumbers almost ready and the tomato plants have some fruit growing, but nothing is ready yet.

Bandit is my mother-in-law's kitty. Do not be fooled by her sweet exterior. This cat has no problem tearing your feet to shreds.

Happy Birthday, Momma!

Today is my Momma's birthday, and to celebrate we went to the Nashville Zoo on Monday.

I think my favorite part of the zoo is the meerkats.




Although the lorikeets are a close second. These birds are very socialized and will perch on your hand or shoulder to get a drink of the food the zoo provides.



This particular bird found Momma's face to be tasty and proceeded to lick her. Tracy's bird in the background was chewing on her hair for a bit before he flew to Momma.

These two (and their friend out of camera range) spent the whole time we were there grooming themselves and each other.

The frogs are very colorful. It is hard to believe they are poisonious.

This elephant wasn't interested in looking at me, she just wanted a little snack.

The big cats were sooo sleepy...

Ostriches always seem so mean to me.

This lemur was very cute. I love his striped tail.

Did I mention it was quite hot outside that day? :)

I bought these tennis shoes in high school and still wear them (much to my husband's dismay). They are definitely showing their age.



Beauty

I feel really beautiful in this dress. I bought it just recently and haven't yet had the opportunity to wear it.

This was a difficult shot to get. I tried to get a shot of me wearing it, but none turned out right. Even this one isn't exactly what I was going for. The colors are off. C'est la vie...

I went out with The Kelly's yesterday afternoon for a shoot. Vincent has been home on leave this month and got to see his baby daughter, Kira, for the first time.

I just finished reading this book by Kathleen Flinn. It's about a woman that goes to Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. I really loved it and recommend it to anyone that enjoys cooking.

Heart Monitor

At 18 I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse. Last week, I went back to the cardiologist just for a check-up and he thinks I was misdiagnosed. But of course he doesn't know what I have. So for the next 30 days I get to wear this. It has two electrodes that attach to my torso. It's not horribly uncomfortable, but it's not great. I even have to wear it while I sleep.
